King School was founded in 1865. Formerly King and Low Heywood Thomas, it is a private, co-educational day school for pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in Stamford.

Founded in 1916, New Canaan Country School is a private, coeducational, independent school for beginners (age three) through grade 9.
Located on 75 acres in New Canaan, their facilities include five academic buildings, two libraries, four art studios, six science labs, state-of-the-art classrooms, a 35-acre nature center, student gardens, a ropes course and LEED-certified Stevens Building and is recognized as one of the greenest school buildings in the state. All were designed specifically for the primary and middle school years to foster excellence in learning and academic achievement and to encourage curiosity, collaboration and community. This school attract students from 20 surrounding towns, many of which have excellent public schools.
