Magnificent waterfront estate
4 Separate Dwellings 16 Acres
The Main House was constructed by local carpenters in 2010 and features wide pine floorboards and a super-vaulted living room with expansive loft, all anchored by a gorgeous spiral staircase that connects the three levels of the house.
An architecturally unique structure, the Main House is an octagon in shape, offering lake views from 6 of its sides, creating rooms that are anything but your average rectangle in configuration. Custom designed cherry wood furniture built by local craftsmen is included with the house. All additional furnishings are also available if desired.
Absolute comfort is yours via the central heating and air conditioning, stone fireplace, and professional appliances by SubZero and Wolf. To top it all off, step out of the master bedroom and luxuriate in a deluxe hot tub--there's nothing quite like a heated dip on a winter's night (or midsummer's night for that matter).
Adjacent to the Main House is a freestanding 2-bay garage that features a studio space above it. A private reflecting pond was built in front of the Main House, so feel free to ice skate.
With no expense spared and no detail overlooked, luxury and whimsy combine to create what is truly the ultimate cabin in the woods.
At almost 4 miles in length and with 19 miles of shoreline, the Green River Reservoir is the largest lake in Vermont exclusively for paddling, sailing and small electric motor trolling. Ondine is one of only four private residences with waterfront access. There will never be another private home constructed on the lake.
Surrounding the reservoir is the 5,500 acre Green River Reservoir State Park, a protected home to wildlife that features camping and paddling, all hidden away in Vermont's northern woods. This secluded splendor is a family oasis in the woods, made magical by the pristine nature all around. Hence its name, Ondine: A mythical woodland water spirit.
In addition to the placid waters, there are hiking and cross-country skiing trails accessible directly from the property, as well as a 20-acre field and horseback riding trails directly adjacent to the property.
Adjacent to the newly constructed reflecting pond is a cleared site, perfectly sized and ready to accommodate a tennis court or hockey rink.
Additionally, the property features: a 32 foot long boat house with bay door and 32 foot long deck to accommodate a two man racing shell (see photos); a barn with 3 bay doors; a shed with a bay door.
There is also a small beach, boat launch, and 2 lane outdoor pistol range.
The Guest House was the first structure completed on the property in 2001 and features a layout similar to the Main House, employing the same lofted living room and spiral staircase design.
Central heating and an antique wood-burning stove keep you warm in winter, and through-wall air conditioners keep things cool in the summer.
The Guest House is very much the adorable baby sibling of the Main House (age aside).
The Guest Apartment is situated above the 2-bay garage adjacent to the Guest House and features the vaulted living room/loft combination of the other structures.
Like the Guest House, it features central heating with an antique wood-burning stove and through-wall air conditioners. It was completed in 2005.
Ondine is located 6 miles from Morrisville with two shopping centers and a regional hospital, and 17 miles from the world class shopping, dining and amenities of Stowe.
It is a short 20 minute drive to the Stowe Morrisville Airport that features a 3,700 foot runway, and a 60 minute drive to the Burlington International Airport.
And don't forget the snow resorts! Ondine is near three of them: Stowe Mountain Resort, Smugglers' Notch Resort, and Jay Peak Resort.
